We distinguish authority and authoritarianism, the authority should not be a privilege, but a responsibility. When the teacher enters in a pedagogic situation, he/she is coming with vertical hierarchy, because he/she is giving the structure and safety. One question is how to transform this hierarchy into a more horizontal one without escaping the responsability. The teacher is not the one who knows more than the other but he/she is giving methods/structure/frame.
